Great news for Cambridge, MA based Conduit Labs…the company has raised an additional $3 million in a second round of funding, according to paidContent. Conduit is the company behind Loudcrowd, a virtual world/ social game and community of music-lovers.

This week at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference, Boston-based Conduit Labs took the lid off its Loudcrowd social music game site. They’ve launched a public beta for the free-to-use site, which, according to Conduit, takes the experience of Guitar Hero and makes it more social.

Loudcrowd users can listen to original music from new artists and also play Flash games to win music tracks and outfits for their avatars as well as interact with others by making their avatars “dance,” challenging friends to games or rating and chatting about songs.

There are currently more than 50 new artists and 250 songs on the site and Conduit has partnerships with recording labels including the Beggars Group, Downtown Records, and Domino, among others.
