Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick is heading to the West Coast next week to meet with more than 50 tech companies, including Microsoft and Google, hoping to stave off layoffs and possibly encourage expansion into MA, particularly within the video game industry.

The Boston Globe and The Boston Herald both have stories about the trip and these initiatives, which is great news for the growing Massachusetts video game and interactive entertainment industry.

With the community rallying together and through the efforts of groups such as Boston Post Mortem, the Mass Tech Leadership Council, and our New England Games and Interactive Entertainment SIG and with the support of the Governor and the Creative Economy Council, it is shaping up to be a great year.
